1996, and a Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist since

HIV. Jase has also worked as a Teaching Assistant at
the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine for six years
and was previously a student of Naturopathy at the National
College of Naturopathic Medicine for two & a half
years. Presently, Jase is working with his partner to
open Ola’kai, a Hawaiian Café,
alternative Bookstore & Healing Center on the Big
Island of Hawaii. Jase is currently studying Hawaiian
Herbal Medicine (Kahuna La’au Lapa’au)
and is developing an integrative Water Healing Therapy,
Ola’kai Ka Nani.
Working with Injuries and Pain:
Jase has great success in helping people to alleviate
chronic and acute pain patterns, restore mobility and
quicken their healing time from injuries or trauma.
He works within an Asian Medical framework, feeling
for and correcting the deficiency or stagnation of Qi
and Blood along the body's energy channels to release
adhesions, muscle spasms and pain. Depending upon your
presentation, Jase will use a combination of gentle
Acupuncture, deep, focused Massage,
PhysioTherapy, soothing heat, stretches and liniments.
He will often integrate other healing tools and modalities
to further individualize each treatment, including Lomi
Lomi, Aromatherapy, Acutonics, CranioSacral, Meridian
therapy, TDP Heat Lamps, Hot Rocks, Moxa, Gua Sha, Cupping,
Ear Seeds or Press Pellets. Jase regularly prescribes
personalized Chinese Herbal Tinctures,
Granules or Patent Herbs to each patient in order to
augment the effectiveness of the treatment.
Treatment Philosophy:
Committed to Excellence in Natural Healthcare
- Patients come in because they recognize that there
is a change they would like to make in their life. This
desired change can be on a physical, emotional, or spiritual
or behavioral level. I take the time to collaborate
with each patient by listening to their experience of
their imbalance or illness and then tune-in to what
their body has to tell me. I feel their pulses, look
at their tongue and face, and if there is pain or a
physical blockage, I palpate their body and perform
structural exams. I then use Lomi Lomi or Thai
Massage to start the release of
pain and to discover specific stagnation patterns. All
of this information then leads to the selection of Acupuncture
points reflective of the imbalances diagnosed. Finally,
we come up with a comprehensive and personalized Healing
Plan that will include a combination of dietary
and lifestyle recommendations, herbs and supplements,
stretches, and a suggested frequency of Acupuncture
and Massage treatments to support each patient's return
to balance and vibrant health.
